Agent program terms
A plain summary of how the Floorshow agent program works and what we expect from agents. The signed agent agreement controls; where this page and the agreement differ, the agreement wins.
1. Independent contractors
Agents run their own businesses. They choose their hours and methods and which rooms to approach, within the program’s rules. Agents aren’t employees: there’s no salary, no benefits and no tax withholding, and agents pay their own taxes and expenses unless we agree otherwise in writing. Agents can’t sign contracts, accept payments or make commitments on our behalf.
2. No cost to join
There’s no fee to join, nothing to buy, no inventory and no charge for training or materials.
3. No earnings promises
We don’t promise or guarantee any income. What an agent earns depends on which venues they bring in, whether those venues sign, and how many tickets they sell, none of which we control. Any example in our materials is an illustration with its assumptions stated, not a prediction.
4. How commission works
Agents earn a share of the platform fee we keep on online tickets sold by venues they bring in, for a set period starting with each venue’s first paid ticket. Commission is paid monthly with a statement. If we give a fee back, for example when a venue cancels a show and its guests are refunded, the commission on that fee comes off in the month it goes back. The rate, the period, any bonus, when payment is made and what happens when the relationship ends are set only in the signed agent agreement.
No commission is paid on practice clubs, on venues the agent didn’t bring in, or on venues we sign directly.
5. One level only
Agents earn only from venues they bring in. There’s no pay for recruiting other agents, and no “downline”.
6. Before you sign
We may open an agent portal before the agreement is signed, so a prospective agent can see the materials, keep notes on rooms and try the practice clubs. Preview access can be ended at any time, and commission is paid only under a signed agent agreement.
7. Registering rooms
One agent works each venue. A room an agent registers, once we confirm it, is theirs to work while they’re making progress, on the timing the agreement sets. Some rooms aren’t open to agents, for example because we’re already talking with them or they’re outside the program; we may not always say why.
8. Relationships, not records
Agents bring the people they know, never a current or former employer’s client lists, customer data, pricing or other confidential information. Agents tell us about any non-solicit, non-compete or similar agreement before they start, and we may limit which rooms an agent works because of one.
9. Representing us
- Describe Floorshow accurately, using our current materials, and say you’re an independent agent.
- Don’t promise prices, terms, features, dates or savings beyond what we publish or confirm in writing.
- Follow the laws on email, calls and texts, including honoring every request to stop, and respect a venue’s no.
- Talk about other companies only with accurate, public facts.
10. Where we work
We add states one at a time. In some states, including California, New Jersey, Illinois and Massachusetts, we check with our lawyer before working with independent agents, so joining can take longer there.
11. Taxes
Before we pay commission, agents give us a Form W-9. We send a Form 1099-NEC when the tax rules require one.
12. Ending and confidentiality
Either side can end the relationship as the agreement provides, and the agreement says what happens to commission afterwards. Our materials, prices and plans, and what agents see in the portal, are confidential, during the relationship and after it.
